They change colour because they are pH-sensitive and acids (lemon juice & vinegar) can turn it red, alkalines (soap & bicarb) back to yellow but the pigment is still there.![]()

Here’s what I recommend:![]()

Act fast – rinse the stain straight away with cold water.![]()
![]()
Bicarbonate of soda paste – mix with a little water and gently rub in, leave 30 mins, then rinse.![]()

Soak in white vinegar – this can help break the bond before washing.![]()
![]()
Oxygen stain remover (like Vanish Oxi) – soak the garment overnight if the fabric allows.![]()

Always wash on the hottest cycle the care label permits.
