Household tasks you can do whilst the kettle is boiling

Being the busy bee that I am I always feel really guilty when I am just stood around particularly when the kettle is boiling.  I now always use this time to achieve something rather than just stand and wait. In reality maybe I should just try to chill for a few minutes but I just can’t do it…..

So below I have listed a few simple tasks you can do to pass the time productively when the kettle is boiling. All of these tasks can be easily achieved in 3/4 minutes.

  • Empty the dishwasher
  • Unload the washing machine and get ready for hanging.
  • Wipe over kitchen appliances
  • Declutter and tidy a drawer
  • Clean the kitchen window
  • Sort through your cleaning products
  • Hoover the kitchen floor
  • Empty the kitchen bin
  • Sort through a food cupboard
  • Plan your day
  • Post a picture on social media
  • Have a mini workout This can be a few star jumps, squats or lunges. Or grab your kettle bells.
  • Sort through your handbag
  • Text friends arrange a catch up
  • Washing up
  • Food preparation
  • Wipe over the fridge door
  • Quick floor mop or steam
  • Polish your shoes
  • Handwash an item of clothing
  • Hang out the washing
  • Tackle kitchen cobwebs
  • Catch up on some reading
  • Apply your makeup
  • Put together a quick playlist

If you have a few more ideas of what can be achieved than I would love for you to add them into the comments below. Don’t forget to take part in my 5 minute cleaning challenge this really does help you stay on top.
