Detox Drink, Lemon, Mint and Cucumber

As well as looking after my home and keeping it germ free I also like to look after myself by eating well and keeping hydrated.

This refreshing drink tastes delicious and its so refreshing. I normally ditch the immunity tea when the weather improves and move onto this one. I am hoping this is the case in the next few weeks. I also find drinks like this really do hydrate the skin and give you more energy.  I am getting older now and I care about my skin care and my energy levels, especially with the amount of cleaning I do.

Below I have listed the benefits of the ingredients as its very important you know why I like this drinks so much.

Benefits of Lemon

  • Promotes hydration

  • Full of antioxidants
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Supports healthy skin
  • High in vitamin K which supports bones

Mint Leaf Benefits

  • Promotes digestion
  • Quick relief for nausea
  • Clears up congestion
  • Supports weight loss
  • Supports healthy skin

 

To make its so simple. Cut up a quarter of a cucumber into small pieces.  Peel and cut up one whole lemon and then add to a litre jug of water.  To finish add in a handful of mint leaves finely cut and leave about an hour in the fridge before you start to drink.

I tend to have a glass a day which lasts approx 5 days before I then need to make up another jug full.
