My blogging journey so far……….

My blogging journey so far……….

Not a cleaning post so something I want to share with you……………..

I started my blog in Feb 2017 and unexpectedly people started to read and respond to my blog which was such an amazing feeling. Being honest with you my writing skills aren’t great and I am a terrible speller so this was a real big step for me.  I still have so much to learn but due to my growth on my social media platforms I had to learn quickly. I think helping other bloggers is really important as this way we can all grow together and share what we learn along the way.  If any of you are reading this and have any ideas or helpful tips then please do share in the comments section.

Being a bit of an entrepreneur and having my hand in quite a few businesses I wanted to give this a try regardless of my bad spelling and grammar!!

Blogging can be very scary for some people and initially was for me so I have put together a few simple steps to get you started, I am certainly not an expert but wanted to share with those of you that are interested some things I have picked up along my journey.

Hosting site

Pick a hosting site for your blog, its important to do some research and decide what one looks the best for you, in the early days you want it to be simple to use and easy to understand.  You can upgrade your blog platform along the way as you start to feel more confident.

Who are you marketing too

Choose a niche market, a topic you love and something you like to talk about then your blog post will come easy to you. Always be true to yourself don’t try and become someone your not and keep to your own writing style.  If people like you they will follow you and won’t worry about a few spelling errors.

Invest

Look at investing some time and money into your blog if you want to make it work for you.  I have recently been on an amazing online course with the lovely Emma Drew who I meet when I spent the day with the Zoflora team back in July. Emma is a very successful blogger earning a six figure salary and she has so much knowledge and helpful advice to share. I highly recommend you take a look at the course.

Affiliate links

Once you are confident you have a great platform for your blog do some research into affiliate programmes, there are many out there but I have found I have had the most successful with Awin. http://tidd.ly/24f4c975 Within Awin http://tidd.ly/24f4c975 there are many companies and you apply to join their programmes.  Once signed up you can use the link builder to earn commission when recommending products.  If your interested in this click the banner below. Other Affiliate programmes are ebay, amazon and rakuten.

Accepting gifts

As you page grows companies will contact you and offer you gifts to showcase on your page.  Don’t just take everything you are offered.  Make sure what is being offered fits in with your page and style.  I blog about cleaning so accepting sports clothing, or make up wouldn’t fit within my page. Also make sure what you do accept is off good quality and a product that you would enjoy to use.

Sponsored Posts

This is a big area and many bloggers charge different amounts of money.  Talk to other bloggers and do some research. If a company has approached you don’t rush think carefully about your reply and send them a rate card outlining who you are, your following, your blog DA and a price guide.  Not many companies will pay you for sponsored post until you have over 100k followers on social media platforms but the bloggers that do will be getting paid very well and turning their blogging into a career.

I hope this little feature has been of some interest to some of you.

Thank you for taking the time to read, for following me and for your general support. Its very much appreciated.
